What recent reviews say

Most recent visits praise the staff's warmth and technical skill, but pricing complaints have intensified. A five-star majority appreciates knowledgeable care and gentle handling of anxious pets, yet two detailed recent reviews fault premium pricing without matching facility quality or bedside manner consistency. One veteran client reported the new phone system prompted them to consider leaving after decades.

Over a year of consistent five-star reviews show owners finding a vet clinic where their anxious, scared, or critically ill pets feel safe. Staff are known for staying past hours when needed, explaining every step, and handling emergencies (eye injuries, porcupine quills, post-operative cats) with both speed and calm. Apollo's end-of-life service stands out sharply in the reviews: private rooms, treats, two staff members who cry alongside owners. Reviewers name specific doctors (Leifheit, Walker, Lindsey, Landwehr) and technicians (Des, Moriah, Zeke, Vianka, Weslea) as part of their relief. Same-day or next-day appointments for urgent needs are standard here.

Every recent review rates South Austin Cat Hospital four or five stars. Reviewers consistently praise Dr. Thomas and her team for genuinely caring for cats, solving long-standing health problems other vets missed, and keeping felines calm in a dog-free facility. The hospital's cat-only focus, Fear Free practices, and board-certified feline specialist draw long-term clients and rescue organizations alike. Pricing runs higher than typical clinics, but owners and rescue founders report it delivers measurable results and honest, transparent cost discussions.

Reviewers describe a vet clinic where anxious, fearful, and senior pets feel safe and calm during visits. Staff remember regular clients by name and explain treatment options upfront without pushing unnecessary tests. The team holds multiple Fear Free certifications and prioritize comfort during nail trims, surgery recovery, and end-of-life decisions. A recent complaint about phone accessibility and one distressing incident stand apart from the consistent pattern of compassionate care and fair pricing. The practice offers acupuncture, nutritional consults, pocket pet care, and puppy/kitten education alongside general exams. Financing through Cherry (Afterpay-style) helps budget-conscious owners. Older reviews noted vets could be warmer in manner, yet the overwhelming recent pattern shows genuine warmth across the team and a willingness to find affordable care options for every client.
