Reviewers consistently experience attentive, skilled care from Dr. Geigel and his team, who listen to concerns and treat pets as family members. The clinic excels with complex cases, exotic pets, and poultry, and staff members are remembered for their genuine compassion. A small-town atmosphere and independence from corporate ownership stand out. One recent negative review detailed a missed cancer diagnosis and extensive unnecessary testing, costing thousands before a friend's outside suggestion. Most recent reviews (past month) remain strongly positive about surgical skill and compassionate care, including treatment of a venomous bite and avian impaction.

Every recent review praises the doctors (Dr. Oliver, Dr. Reynolds, Dr. Ussery) and entire staff for knowing pets by name and treating them like family. Reviewers repeatedly mention feeling rushed, no hard sell, thorough answers to questions, and genuine care - even with anxious or difficult animals. Several note they've trusted OAH for 6+ years through routine visits, emergencies (foreign body ingestion, acute needs), and chronic issues (digestive problems, ear infections). One reviewer valued fair pricing relative to care quality. The practice, operating since 2006 in Oak Hill, handles general care, surgery, pharmacy, and specialist referrals. Staff including Kandice, Jordan, and Jodi are named as standout for making pets comfortable. The personalized, non-corporate approach and willingness to think outside the box for treatment solutions come up repeatedly. No complaints appear in the recent reviews.

Southwest Vet

4.9(455)✓ Google-verified

All 16 recent reviews gave 5 stars. Reviewers consistently praise the vets for explaining treatment options clearly and avoiding unnecessary upsells. Staff go out of their way for anxious pets, and the surgery team handled a critical spleen rupture with speed and care, including detailed aftercare. The practice opened in 2016 and serves the Austin area. Their website lists general wellness, dentistry, dermatology, cardiology, oncology, and urgent care alongside holistic and end-of-life services. Named vets appear across reviews (Dr. Pelaez, Dr. Kmietsch, Dr. Singleton, and others). A long-term client noted Southwest had cared for their dogs over 20 years. One reviewer highlighted staff member Cheyenne for exceptional service.
